THE KTM DUKE 390 ABS

The KTM DUKE 390 ABS was released early this year. This is one of the KTM's best product. The machine is completely loaded with power,comfort and safety too. The machine comes with 44 bhp engine and ABS. Lets take a deep look into it.

ENGINE

The engine of this bike is completely new. The KTM's single-cylinder engine underline's the KTM's strength. It's clear that latest technologies not only deliver the bike bountiful torque and acceleration at all speeds, but also has made the bike suitable to everyday use and outstanding fuel economy. The 375 cc single-cylinder engine only weighs 36 kg, with transmission shafts arranged one above the another. It also delivers a puchy 44 hp max power with technical refinements such as NaCaSil cylinder coating and forced oil lubrication with performance-boosting casing.

INJECTION

The intricate engine design, injection electronics and the close-ratio, six-speed transmission not only help the bike to achieve impressive performance, but also low fuel consumption. The catalytic converter as usual produces minimal emissions.

BRAKES

The Bosch 9M ABS makes the pleasure of the impressive DUKE dynamics even safer and adds the finishing touch to its chassis qualities. The ABS on the KTM 390 DUKE monitors the effect of the potent brake system with radially-bolted, four-piston calliper and 300 mm disc diameter. This system is developed in collaboration with the specialists, Bosch and Brembo. The braking system is ideal for stunt riders too.

FRAME

The 44 bhp power plus an unladen weight of only 139 Kg guarantee immense riding fun with the DUKE 390. The first-class chassis, with lightweight tubular space frame in the DUKE turns it into a real surfer through the bends. Masses grouped close to the centre of gravity maximise the balance of the bike.

WHEELS AND TYRES

The bike comes with a 17 inch cast light alloy wheels which are fitted with grippy Metzeler tyres - 110 mm wide at the front and 150 mm at the rear. The wheel is equally lightweight as the chassis and are stable. The tyres impress with tremendous grip in all conditions.

FUEL TANK

The shapely 11 L fuel tank of the bike not only provides the rider perfect knee contact, but also a greater range to ride with comfort.

SILENCER

The three-chamber silencer is positioned close to the bike's overall centre of gravity. This aids the centralisation of the masses and enhances playful handling to the bike.

COCKPIT

The multi-function cockpit keeps you updated with fuel consumption and remaining range. This also has many other features like side stand up or down etc.
